Role: Senior Account Director – UK

Reports To: Business Director – EMEA

Location: UK time zone


  • Thanks to recent wins across Europe, we are expanding our Client Services team and are looking for a smart, energised and ‘grown up’ Senior Account Director to help onboard clients as well as grow the team.
  • This role will initially focus on a mix of UK, French and German campaigns across Partner Marketing, ABM and Direct Brand Marketing.
  • We are looking for someone who can build trust with clients quickly, bring a strategic mind to the table and deliver campaigns on time and on budget.
  • Our clients are highly collaborative, so this SAD needs to be able to think on their feet and have a good listening ear.
  • Our clients also want to be challenged, so we are looking for a grown-up who feels comfortable pushing back (internally and with clients), scrutinising strategic and creative outputs to ensure they’re the best they can possibly be.
  • Whilst initially a large part of this role will be helping to run existing accounts, we will also look for support in growing other existing clients and new prospects.

Client Service Capabilities:

  • Alongside the planning team, take ownership of the strategic development of account, all campaign activity and budgets.
  • Be curious and a nosey parker – proactively advise clients on new issues/external environment and contribute to strategic planning meetings with client.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the strategic intention and creative integrity of the campaigns is executed throughout the work.
  • Be best friends with our clients – keep in regular contact about account direction, campaign activity, business goals and what they had for lunch etc. Be obsessed with them (in a non-creepy way!).
  • Secure your (and the agency’s position) as key consultant/advisers to client, being responsive to client expectations and business requirements.
  • Be vocal and speak up especially when identifying and anticipating risks and scope issues.
  • Execute campaign collateral with the team (which include assets like video, whitepapers, eBooks, dashboards, DM, event collateral etc) across a myriad of channels (performance media, media partnerships and telemarketing etc).

Account Growth / New Business:

  • Farm your accounts – create and develop opportunities to grow existing business and identify new opportunities for the agency.
  • Understand where you can drive profitability and increase margin. Be aware when the investment of your time in building relationships needs to be realised into tangible value / ROI (and revenue) for the agency.
  • Go hunting too – work with the Client Services Director to develop and present new business proposals (we don’t really “pitch” in the conventional agency way).

Finance & Project Management:

  • Be comfortable with the basics of how agencies generate revenue.
  • Manage forecast, pipeline and profitability of your account.
  • Feel confident in estimating project costs and having finance discussions with your client.
  • Be literate in identifying reasons for overburn, underburn and be able to offer solutions and recommendations to help the finance process run smoothly.


  • Be a delightful human being – have excellent client interfacing and communication skills.
  • Be a strong leader, seller and negotiator.
  • Strong problem solving and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrate profitable growth of client accounts though wide-ranging account management skills.
  • Ability to set budgets, expectations and deliver results.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience working in a B2B marketing activity, ideally with technology companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build deep client relationships and partnerships, which in turn lead to revenue growth.
  • Comfortable meeting the challenge of presenting and persuading.
  • Grown up enough to understand how a creative business generates revenue.
